Kisumu County

Kisumu County covers an area of 2,085km2, and Kisumu City, a port city which is the third largest city in Kenya, as its administrative capital. The city as well as the county is most famous for its close association with Lake Victoria which is the largest lake in Africa. This close association is also due to fishing, and the processing of fish being the main economic activity in the county. As with the other counties in the region, agriculture is also a major economic activity with sugar and rice key agricultural products. The county is also a popular tourist destination, with main attractions including Hippo Point, the Impala sanctuary and Kisumu Museum.
